Chapter Eighty

22nd of Woodmonth

After a short meal, Nicodemus and Nancy arrive to whisk us away back home.  We gather our people and things, and join hands on the same roof where we arrived.  Nicodemus chants, and suddenly, we’re back in our own courtyard.

The wizard and his apprentice join us for dinner and enlighten us somewhat on this “O’Neil” business.  He counsels us on the wizard we are supposed to kill, cluing us in to some of his tactics and exploits.  He also speaks with us about going to the Spine, and tells us to contact him before we begin that trip.  For now, however, we have a wizard to go after.

Nicodemus and Nancy take their leave of us, and we begin to plan our trip north.  We spend the next week preparing to leave, and another six days travelling to the Mladenov lands where we board the Leviathan, captained by cousin Joe, our friend from the area.  We sail north for 21 days, and each night, when no one’s around, I sneak into Boian’s bed.
